For your information, MFC has written a letter to MTIB back in September 2021 requesting for the removal of CESS in the MTIB Act 1973.
In a reply letter to us later by MTIB Director-General, Tuan Haji Mahpar Atan it states that the collection of CESS is based on the CESS Order and furniture is not listed in it.
Therefore furniture products are exempted from being CESS by the government.

出口家具产品 CESS 税务事宜

谨此通知，马来西亚家具总会於今年 9 月再度致函马来西亚木材工业局（MTIB），要求移除1973年马来西亚木材工业委员会（企业）法令下的税务征收。
马来西亚木材工业局总监 Tuan Haji Mahpar Atan 正式给予书面回复，该局所征收的 CESS 税务是依据 CESS 条例，并声明家具产品不在征收的产品列表内。
因此，家具产品被政府豁免征收有关税务。
