Dear esteemed MFC members,
For your information, MITI has decided to postpone the requirement for manufacturers to apply for a manufacturing license to have 80% of local workers (80:20) from December 31, 2022 for another two years.
This decision was taken after taking into consideration the voices of many industries stating that the current workers crunch and preceding moratorium on foreign workers.
Hence the new date of this requirement for manufacturers to comply has been deferred to December 31, 2024.
MFC urges all members to take note of this update and continue seeking to automate their production to comply with the government’s directive.

政府同意展延 80:20 就业条件至 2024 年 12 月 31 日
诚致全体 MFC 会员：
谨此通知，MITI 发出通知，政府已同意展延实行企业在聘请员工，需 80% 本地劳工和 20% 外籍劳工的政策至 2024 年。
这是考虑到目前诸多行业面对劳工短缺和暂停雇用外劳后所做出的决定。
因此，这一政策将被 推迟到 2024年12月31日 才实行。
马来西亚家具总会敦促所有会员留意此更新，与此同时转型成自动化生产以配合政府的发展方向。
